Batik is one of Indonesia heritage that has been admitted by international world and this is how is the batik made. The pattern are transfers into the textile material and then using ‘malam’ and canting ‘the batik pen’ the lady is following the pattern patiently.
The picture is taken at Mirota Batik and the batik processing performance usually take place in the weekend where the tourists are crowded, they even have memorizing this process through ceramics statue that I found in the second floor of the store, and it was so cute 🙂
gonna get this must-have-souvenir one day! one day.. one day..
Oh, my gosh! Those statues are just amazing! I want one! And of course the batik speaks for itself. Such perfectly intricate work. I’m also really interested in the wax chunks in the bowls. I wonder what they’re using in their wax? Looks like maybe a beeswax/paraffin mix, but maybe heavier on the beeswax since it’s so dark.
