Most wanted thing I wanna do (for today)

Why do the time tickin so slow today when my head couldn’t be compromised and the fever take over my body. Ugh…just want to go home, slipped under my blanket and gone to the world for couple of hours. This intermittent fever always comeback once in a while though I’m not missing them and here I am sitting in front of my PC with central air conditioner pouring from on top of my head, cooling out my body from top to toes, killing my brain cells slowly kalo gini caranya nih.

 

Let me go hoomee….ow ow ow

Kartini’s Day

R.A. Kartini is one of Indonesian national heroine and each year on April 21^st is celebrated as a Kartini’s day. Kartini known with her effort to fight for women’s right in her era on the early 1900. An idea of women emancipation with equal freedom and education as the men’s had. Her idealisms were written in letters to her friend in Europe, collected and published as a book with the title “Out of Dark Comes Light” (Habis Gelap Terbitlah Terang) and had inspiring many Indonesian women.

 

 

Telat sehari, tapi semoga Hari Kartini masih bisa dimaknai lebih dari sekedar berkebaya dan bersanggul ya.

Oh Pangolin….

Hari ini banyak sekali topik yang berhubungan dengan hewan, termasuk salah satu berita yang saya baca di kompas online tentang pemusnahan trenggiling tangkapan yang tentu saja sudah diawetkan mengingat trenggiling ini termasuk ke dalam spesies yang statusnya cukup terancam kepunahan. Tidak main-main, jumlah yang dimusnahkan mencapai 360 ekor trenggiling.

An article from today newspaper ( Koran Tempo, April 18^th  2008 ) mention about the use of primate for aeronautic experiments by Rusian. One of a country that known with it’s long history using primates for experiments. Laboratories in Sochi Institute of Medical Primatology at Vesyoloye develop a breeding colony of 3.000 long tailed monkeys (Macaca fascicularis) to support the aeronautic space programes. The aim of the experiment is to see the radiation effect in Mars towards the monkeys before sending the human. The project will be start in the early of next year simultaneously with Mars-500 project, a project of inter planets flight simulation programe. The monkeys were use because its similarity with the human and will be observed through its respond towards weightless condition, isolation, diet with juice and sterile food during the experiments.

 

The critic came from animal lovers all around the world. Andrei Zbarsky from WWF suggested other alternative for the experiments reffering to hundreds of animal that have been use each year for cosmetical or biomedical research.

A Thursday’s note

Today is a bus day for me. I go earlier than I use to be, to catch a bus from Barangsiang to Kampung Rambutan terminal. While sitting on the moving bus along the jagorawi toll way, there is a middle age woman whose join us as a singer. Her slender figure wrapped in an old casual t-shirt combined with a pair of blue jeans full of ballpoint graffiti. She knotted her black hair and cover it using a nike cap. Small hand bag were tied up around her waist while her thin fingers embracing the guitar as she start saying words of permission to sing us some songs.

 

April 17th

When I wake up this morning, somehow I think of you. Thinking of you in so many ways that I don’t think that I could ever recall in any ordinary days. I see your shadow through the people I passed on the streets, on the corners where we use to be. And when I walked across the fallen purple flowers trying to ignore the illusion, everything was still almost the same, except you, you were not there. When your shadows start to fade away and my tears has run out dry, why does my heart still feel like this? Bruised and missing you so bad. And I have to wait until the night falls down bluring your shadow like it use to be.

The Sunday gathering

Spend my sunday in a pet owner gathering at Bukit Sentul. Bunch of golden retriever, labrador, samoyed, husky, shitzu and one big saint bernard gathering following their owner for the animal health seminar. Dont like to work on sunday but I do love to play with those floppy ears animals.

Friday intermezzo

Belakangan ini banyak peristiwa grasak grusuk yang mengguncang, menimbulkan perbincangan, keprihatinan serta pembahasan kroyokan (rame -rame gitu) di dunia para blogger. Dimulai dengan beredarnya suatu cuplikan (its not worthed to be called as a movie lah) yang menampilkan suatu tema yang picik karena dibuat secara sepihak dengan tujuan menjelek-jelekkan suatu religi. Lalu ada kemunculan UU ITE yang diramaikan dengan protes para hacker (benarkah??? mungkin harusnya disebut lebih spesifik sebagai hacker provokator, hush……tidak boleh nuduh sembarangan tauuu) yang diam-diam menggunakan wajah seorang pakar telematika (bener gak sih?) untuk menghack beberapa website institusi negara. Akhirnya sang pakar bicara dan mengeluarkan pernyataan-pernyataan yang tidak bijaksana. Mungkin sama tidak bijaksananya dengan pernyataan tanggapan yang dikeluarkan oleh Menkes kita beberapa waktu lalu mengenai susu anak-anak yang tercemar (menurut saya loh!).
